The Auckland Wargames club presents a Saga tournament day. Bring along your Warband and see who is the strongest Warlord!

This is intended to be a fun and friendly event and if the day goes well, we will probably have another one.

Details

This event is on Sunday the 15th of November 2015. See the schedule below for start/end times.

The location is the Balmoral scout hall in Pollard Park. See this website for more details

Tables provided by the AWC along with some terrain and cloths, so bring along what you have (preferably painted)

Cost is $5 for non AWC members, free for AWC members. Bank transfer or cash.

Schedule

Arrival time and setup 9:45am – 10:15am

Round 1 10:15 – 12:00

Lunch 12:00 – 12:30

Round 2 12:30 – 14:15

Round 3 14:15 – 16:00

Rules (for all Scenarios)

Warbands are 6 points in size and special characters are allowed.

The tournament will have 3 rounds games

Each game will last for 6 turns or 1.75 hours (whichever happens first) ules the scenario specifies otherwise. Because of the tight timelines we will stick closely to this.

All rules are used and interpreted from the Dark Ages Rule set including on Cavalry / Horse fatigue. However Cresent & Cross specific warband or abilites will apply.

If you want to use However Cresent & Cross rules amendments then you can agree with your opponent BEFORE staring your, and remember this is meant to be a friendly comp.

For each scenario game the second moving player will roll 3 SAGA Dice at the start of the first moving player’s turn, and allocate them onto his Battleboard. They can only be placed in Boxes for Shooting Reaction, Melee Reaction and/or Combat Pool. Any remaining on the Battleboard at the start of the second moving player’s turn must be removed before he rolls his SAGA dice. This is to represent the defender preparing for battle

Starting player. Unless specified by the scenario, roll a die and add the number of Saga dice (don’t roll them) your warband gets. The winner chooses who goes first.

Round 2 – Battle at the Ford/ Homeland (depending what terrain people bring)

Round 3 – Sacred Ground

What you need to bring:

  • Your painted and based Warband
  • Your dice, SAGA & D6 (if you are using home-made SAGA dice, please make sure the symbols are
  • completely obvious for your opponent).
  • Your completed roster sheet
  • Your measuring sticks or rulers, fatigue token
  • Your Dark Age rulebook and any supplements with your faction in it.
  • A pen and paper
  • Scenery (some will be provided but more will be needed)
